Accessibility at The Vue Lake Tarpon

We want you to be able to decide before you book whether The Vue will work for you. This page describes our accessible features in detail, with actual measurements. If there is something we have not covered, call us at (727) 940-8915 — we will go measure it, take a photo, or walk the route for you.

Our accessible guest room — Room 115

Room 115 is on the ground floor of our Jasmine building. There are no steps at any point between the parking area and the room door.

Getting in

The entry doorway gives 33 inches of clear width with the door open, and the threshold is flush — there is no lip to cross. The door uses a lever handle rather than a round knob.

Sleeping area

One queen bed on an open frame. Beside the bed there is a clear floor area of 36 by 72 inches for a parallel approach.

Bathroom

The bathroom doorway gives 35 inches of clear width. Inside there is a 60-inch turning circle clear of all fixtures.

• Curbless roll-in shower, 32½ by 84 inches — no lip or step at the entry, with 36 inches of clear floor in front of the opening
• Fold-down seat mounted in the shower
• Grab bars in the shower and at the toilet
• Toilet centered 18 inches from the side wall, with 68 inches of clear floor in front of it
• Sink open underneath with 28 inches of knee clearance; the rim sits 31½ inches above the floor

Hearing accessibility

The smoke alarm in Room 115 has both a flashing strobe and an audible alarm. We also keep a portable visual notification kit at the front desk at no charge, which adds flashing alerts for door knocks — mention it when you book and we will have it set up before you arrive.

Balcony

Like every room at The Vue, Room 115 opens onto a private balcony overlooking Lake Tarpon, and the balcony doorway is 45½ inches wide. Please note there is a 5-inch step at the balcony threshold, so the balcony is not independently accessible to someone using a wheelchair. We would rather tell you now than have you find out at check-in.

Parking and arriving

We have designated accessible parking, and the route from parking to Room 115 is step-free — no steps, no un-ramped curbs, and no unpaved stretches at any point. Call us before you arrive and we will tell you exactly which spaces to aim for and meet you there.

The route from Room 115 to the front desk is also step-free.

If getting to the front desk is difficult for you, you do not have to. Call us when you arrive and we will complete check-in at your room, including bringing you the key and any paperwork.

Service animals

Trained service animals are welcome throughout the property, including in guest rooms. Our pet policy does not apply to service animals.

Booking an accessible room

Call (727) 940-8915, Monday through Saturday, 9am to 5pm, or use our contact form and tell us you need an accessible room.

• We hold Room 115 for guests who need its accessible features, and we will not book it to someone else while other rooms are available.
• When you reserve Room 115, that specific room is guaranteed for your stay — not a room "of that type."
• Ask us anything before you commit. If you need a measurement we have not published, or a photo from a particular angle, we will go get it.
